Publication Ethics


Rules of Research and Publication Ethics of the International Yunus Emre Journal of Social Sciences

Each article sent to our journal is sent to two independent referees outside the editorial board after the preliminary control of the technical editorial board. Upon the positive opinion of the referees, the article is re-evaluated by the editorial board and then passed to the editing/layout stage for publication. After the necessary arrangements, the article is placed in the publication queue.

Submitted articles must be original, unpublished anywhere, in accordance with academic standards. A paper presented at a scientific meeting is accepted if it has not been published elsewhere, provided that this is stated.

The rules to be considered regarding publication ethics in the articles sent to our journal are as given under the title of "Acts against science research and publication ethics" in Article 8 of YÖK Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive.

 

Authors Responsibilities

Authors should take collective responsibility for their works and the content of their publications. Researchers should carefully check their publications at every stage to ensure that methods and findings are reported accurately. Writers; must carefully check their calculations, data presentations, spellings, and findings.

Reported research should be conducted within the framework of ethical rules and in a way that the author takes responsibility, and all relevant legislation should be followed.

 

Honesty

Researchers should present their results honestly and without fabrication, forgery or improper data manipulation. Research images should not be altered in a misleading way.

Authors should immediately notify the editor if they discover an error in any submitted, accepted or published work. Authors should collaborate with editors to make corrections or retractions as needed.

Researchers should try to describe their methods and present their findings clearly and unambiguously. Researchers must adhere to applicable reporting principles.

Authors must accurately represent the works of others in citations and quotations.

Authors should not copy references from other publications if they have not read the cited work.

 

Originality

Authors must comply with the publication requirements that the submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere in any language.

Applicable copyright laws and conventions must be followed. Copyright material (eg, tables, figures, or comprehensive offers) should be reproduced only with appropriate permission and approval.

Both previous research and the authors' own works and publications should be accepted and referenced as correct. Basic literature should be used as much as possible.

Authors should inform the editors whether the findings have been previously published and sent for publication elsewhere.

 

Transparency

All authors must agree and approve to list accepted and published versions of the publication. Any changes to the list of authors must be approved by all authors, including those removed from the list. The corresponding author should act as a liaison between the editor and other authors and should inform the authors and involve them in important decisions about publication.

 

Accountability and Responsibility

All authors should read and be familiar with the reported studies and ensure that publications follow the principles in this guideline. In most cases, authors are expected to take joint responsibility for the integrity and reporting of research. However, if the authors take responsibility only for certain aspects of the research and their reporting, it should be noted in this publication.

 

Publisher-Editor

The Editorial Board of the International Yunus Emre Journal of Social Sciences develops arguments that will help raise the quality standards of the journal.

The Editorial Board of the Journal ensures that the author-referee relations are healthy.

The Editorial Board of the Journal defends the diversity of academic ideas and the freedom of scientific thought. At the same time, it tries to maintain the functioning of the journal by observing intellectual property rights and ethical standards.

In accordance with the publication policy of our journal, all publication processes are carried out in a transparent manner. Transparency is observed in matters that require correction, change or explanation for any reason, as per the publication policy.

 

Judge

“Blind Refereeing and Evaluation Process” is in operation in our journal. The editorial board is authorized in adverse situations that may occur during this process. Except for the legal processes, the journal management maintains the confidentiality of the referees.

Each article sent to the journal is sent to two independent referees outside the editorial board after the preliminary control of the technical editorial board. If one of the referees expresses a negative opinion, the article is directed to a third referee. If both referees express a negative opinion, the article is rejected.

The referees determined for each article are selected according to the content of that article.

Journal management encourages the referees to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and objective language.

It is essential that the referees assigned to the articles sent to our journal return on time and evaluate the relevant article by considering scientific criteria.

Referees assigned to an article submitted to our journal should make evaluations with the minimum of courtesy and avoid unfounded evaluations that may have unscientific or legal consequences.
